World Story
This world is set far in the future, where global warming has flooded the world and only isolated islands remain. Many advances of the modern world have long faded away, and the island the story takes place on was cut off from any communication with other human societies hundreds of years ago. Not only has the island faced the challenges of being stranded for centuries, but it appears that gods will is for them to no longer exist. Ten years before modern day in this universe, a rift appeared in the sky. Waves of beings force themselves down onto the city, on a conquest to destroy the last of humanity. In order to protect their citizens, hundreds of tall, climbable “needles” have been constructed to reach into the sky and give humanity the ability to fight the creatures from the rift before they reach their homes far below. In an endless battle, the people of the island fight to defend what little they have left.
